The Blue Derby trail network will be getting some new trails specifically for the event, and this is on top of the 80km of trails already on offer; the area has become a massive drawcard for bike riders from all over Australia. Enduro Mountain Biking is an exciting format of racing, where riders compete against the clock on timed downhill runs throughout the day, traversing by bike from stage to stage.
During the race there will be a race village with local food and drink. Spectators are encouraged to line the track to cheer on the worlds best riders.
Tasmania Whisky Week
Tasmania Whisky Week consists of multiple events over 10 days that celebrate Tasmanian whisky in local distilleries, bars, barns, stables, restaurants and hotels. The inaugural event in July 2016 was an outstanding success and the 2017 event will be even better.
Local distilleries are opening their doors to host behind-the-scenes public tours to meet the distillers in person, provide access to unreleased whiskies, and offer dining opportunities to showcase their award winning products.
Great Chef Series
Between the months of March and August 2017, TasTAFE Drysdale presents the 'Great Chefs Series' in Launceston and Hobart. Over six days of Targa Tasmania, the world’s best touring, sports and GT cars compete in competitive stages on the Island’s toughest roads.
